The Suzuki School

Violin group playing

The Suzuki School was founded by Peter Rüttimann in 1978 following his first stay with Dr. Suzuki in Matsumoto, Japan. Together with his wife, Marianna Rüttimann, they built up the school in Luzern, and then in Zurich.  Their children, Martin, Patricia and Cyrill Rüttimann, now run the school with 120+ pupils in three cities (Luzern, Zurich, Basel).

In addition to violin lessons, the school also offers piano and guitar lessons.

Lessons usually begin between the ages of 3 and 4 years.

For children under 3, and beginning as early as birth, the school offers a baby music course (Suzuki Early Childhood Education).
